Who I Am
Who I Am
I’m Gareth Scott — a husband, father, and grandfather to a large blended family. For more than 30 years, I've worked in the industries that keep Alberta and British Columbia moving — forestry, energy, agriculture, and construction.
My career began in the trades and grew into leadership roles with companies such as Aspen Planers, Weyerhaeuser Canada Limited, and Pinnacle Pellet. I've managed large teams, led safety programs, negotiated with labour, and overseen multi-million dollar operations where every decision mattered.
Those experiences taught me that leadership isn't about titles — it's about accountability. When people's safety and livelihoods depend on your choices, you learn to take responsibility, act decisively, and focus on solutions that work.
As a small business owner and consultant here in Red Deer, I understand the pressures families and employers face — balancing budgets, navigating red tape, and making tough decisions when every dollar counts.
I'm running for Mayor to bring that same practical, results-driven leadership to City Hall — leadership that listens first, acts with integrity, and delivers outcomes people can actually see.

Like many of you, I care deeply about the future of our city. I’ve worked on the front lines in trades and at the head of the table as a CEO and consultant. Through it all, I’ve seen how strong leadership, accountability, and common sense decision-making can change lives.
